jcsDesigns
Hi All I am posting this as I hope you guys/girls could possibly help me, I seem to be getting blue spots to the render inclosed. I think it maybe from the reflection from glass put am sure I have delated all the glass from all of the windows? I cant seem to get the visual right by having glass in the windows. Why is this? I have had this problem before and deleted the glass and this seems to fix it! I produced a great office interior to which I used the same settings. Any guidance for a great render would be most greatful. I am using Mental Ray, and just the final gather with the day light system on. sorry I am quite new to 3ds max and self learning myself. Thankyou James
Spacelord
Hi I haven't checked the scene but it sounds like a glossie interpolation bug. If you are using interpolated glossies turn it off, see if that works. cheers
jcsDesigns
Thanks for the replay, I have managed to sort the problem out, by switching it to V RAY... any comments on the attached would be great. Cheers
Spacelord
Hi, Take what I say with a grain of salt I'd texture the carpet / rug. The wall paper draws to much of your attention ( tone it down ). The ceiling lights need a self illumination material so they look like there on.
kris McIsaac
Were you using architectural materials with this? I find reflective/transparent architectural materials cause this with medium to high FG values. Using all A/D materials now with no problems
Justin Hunt
switching to Vray hasn't solved your problem , thats just like an ostrich sticking its head in the sand to get away from a charging lion. The fast interpolate for the glossies is a problem that was fixed with SP1. JHV
jcsDesigns
Thanks for the reply, but! I put this thread on quite a while back I don't know why it's still on?, I now use vray instead of Mental Ray to which has solved my problem, but I get about what you say. Cheers P.S. THIS VISUAL LOOKS GREAT NOW!
