Brolloks
Normally when I import Autocad drawings I get them in the same layers they were created with a colour for each layer. Is it possible to move all these objects to a single layer but retain their colours? If they are moved to another layer they automatically accept the colour of the new layer which is not what I want...
bborne
This can be a partial solution, but maybe it helps. Each object has its color determined either by his layer or by his own color property. You can select all the objects within a layer and apply a color to his objects. As long as his color is set as "by object" it won´t change when unifying layers. Of course, this solution may not work if you have tons of layers. + Bruno Borne
Tim Saunders
Ya, I think, if you select all the objects, then go in the color selector, and click "by object", then move them all onto the new layer, they should retain the colors (I think).
Brolloks
Thanks for the tips, guys.. Unfortunately you have to set the objects on each layer first before you move them, and if you have a ton of objects and layers it becomes too time consuming... I think what would be needed is a script of sorts that will transfer the layer colour to the objects on that layer and then change the object colour to be defined by object and not layer.
