fade2blackened
Hello, my name is Fábio Paiva and I´m one of Rick´s (Eloy one... ) students. If anyone would like to see this imagem I got from this magazine (and also if it´s "legal" to do that) I can attach it later. And I sure see some mistakes which I´ll soon fix: - the luminaire is a bit strange. Even though it looks like the real one which is made of wood sticks and a kind of paper inside, I think mine is "clean" enough to make these sticks look like just as 3D cilinders. Maybe if a put a random noise for which one of them it will look better; - for this "paper" part of the luminaire I might change it´s material for a light-yellow-skin-orange vray2sided one; - I can see some edges on the washbasin as well. I´ll try to smooth that out; - I still have to add about 3 more accessories on the scene to make it complete; - the glossy effect on the faucet is too strong but I already fixed that. - there´s a strange edge on the top of the faucet which I already fixed. - take my name out of the washbasin. Some information: - 3dmax + vray + PS - low render settings for test purposes only - first image took about only 4 minutes to render - the "zoomed" one took almost 15. - everything was done in about 4 hours with lot´s of diff textures settings and tweaks. (hardest part for me) As everyone I expect for C&C which will all be very welcome. Hope to see things I couldn´t see before and then fix everything so I can have a nice looking final image for my future portfolio. THanks!

Sawyer
It looks good what caught my eye are the chamfer lines on the sink. The reflections seem off but honestly I have a hard time finding the vocabulary to describe it. I belive the reflections should be less glossy and maybe put in a light that highlights the "product" more.
ShaunDon
Very nice work, man. If forced to criticize, I see two places where you could improve -- one, add some gradient to the diffuse color of your sconses so that the white isn't uniform... there's always a hot spot and some falloff from whatever is illuminating it. And in the close-up shot, I think you've got a little too much blur on your chrome reflections. But it's great work -- it's always a trap, the better your work gets, the more painfully minute the criticisms you'll receive. But it's all in the pursuit of getting better so I try not to let anyone offend me. ;-) Shaun
fade2blackened
@ Sawyer, Thank you very much. You right, I´m gonna try to fix the reflections of the sink and do something with the ligthting also. @ ShaunDon, Yeah, as I said I didn´t really liked the sconces and maybe this "gradient" change will improve it a lot. About the chrome glossines I already fixed that, so in the next image It will look better too. Thanks for your time!
fade2blackened
Well... I changed somethings... Once again, thank you all very much... I still have to make it a "real render" with high settings and model some little objects...

Ricardo Eloy
I second Shaun on this, Fabio! As I told you yesterday on class, using a VRayLight plane instead of the IES really worked. Congrats!
fade2blackened
@Eloy, The vraylight was just a perfect idea for that light. And thank you all very much for the C&C...I´m very glad for the help. It´s very important for me. And once I really finish this image I´ll post it here.
