Maxwell mat/lighting study

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody,

haven't post for a couple of months because of a nasty period of burnout, hospital and recovery...

Anyway, here's a first tryout with the latest Maxwell 1.1.79 plug for Max. True, you've got to get the hang of it, takes time to understand the math-a-like material parameters but after a few hours you think...hey, this isn't so bad.

Don't mention artifacts or whatever, the speculairs on the roof isn't exactly in line with the sun, but pay attention to the physical lighting setup and how it interact with the backsplash...

Take it easy,

Dennis

One crit, need to re-orientate the bricks in the foreground, but the lightings great.

Cheers,

Tom.

What about renderer burnout? If only I could be hospitalized once in a while, I would welcome it. The problem is, in the US you can't be sick. Our health care system is based on "walk it off".

About the image--I don't understand what you are trying to do with this. It does not look physically accurate to me at all. I think you need to go back to the start and think about what you want to show and forget about software. What is the message, what is the end result? Tell a story. Just using a program and accepting the result isn't the path to the sort of work I think you want to do.

You have to be open to the idea of starting over to get the right work.

It's also possible that I'm not reading what you intended, and that I'm being an insensitive ass. If so, please say it, but say what you had in mind because I'm not able to read it in this rendering.
