DennisHolland
Be sure that you use maxwell mats and put the pic in the upper 'reflectance' slot, apply a UV-map (box). Otherwise it's a bug and you should report it on maxwellrender.com.
turbo2000
Thanks for answer Dennis, but can you clarify it deeper how to do it? My picture on the wall uses maxwell materials (the frame) but the picture doesn't show in renderings...
DennisHolland
Start Max > choose renderer > Maxwell > open material editor > pick Maxwell material > upper reflectance slot and browse your image > assign and render. (Be sure to use a png/jpg/gif picture) Good luck, any questions just ask. Dennis
turbo2000
Sorry for late answer Thanks Dennis it worked, is it possible to let the sun shine through the/an object? At the moment i am visualizing a house with a big background image but the image is also in the way from the sun
DennisHolland
Maxwell-render will calculate this event for you. Just let the sun shine through and it will appear in your render finally. Any more questions, just shoot a mail to dennis@priestermedia.nl and we'll get it on at a chat session. Otherwise skype @ DennisHolland and we'll continue turbo. Take care, Dennis
turbo2000
Hmm.. i have tried to apply the background image to a wall as material but it doesn't shine through? BTW: I'm using archicad and are rendering via the maxwell plugin. Do i have to change the settings for the material to let the sun shine through it in the maxwell editor? AJLynn
Are you trying to make the wall glass? Try using one of the Maxwell preset "AGS" materials - they're the only ones that let sunlight go through glass correctly. If you want to have the wall be there, opaque and all, and the sun just go through it as if the wall did not cast shadows... you can't. Maxwell doesn't have the option to turn off shadows for an object.
turbo2000
I am trying to let the sun shine through my wall/image.. I'll try to explain my problem in text here: HERE IS THE SUN (is in the back) HERE IS MY WALL/BACKGROUND IMAGE (is in the middle) HERE IS MY HOUSE (is in front) The problem is that the wall blocks the sun from shining in to the house
turbo2000
Hi i managed to move the wall so far away that it didnt block the sun, but now i have a new problem.. Why does it take so long to render this image (its still running) ? http://www.lusica.dk/pic1.jpg I only use Physical Sky and sun and the resolution is 800x320? My computer is a core duo 2.0ghz with 2gb ram could it be the background image witch is too big? This image did only take about 5 hours to render (its from outside the same image) i know its a smaller resolution but the other isn't that bigger :S http://www.lusica.dk/pic2.jpg Ps: Im using the maxwell plugin to archicad. turbo2000
AJLynn you were right the AGS function worked so it was the glass material i was using that caused the problem
