dohm0022
It seems whenever i am looking out onto an area that is lit by the sun while under a canopy, the enitre model gets shaded. If i rotate the view so i am in the light, this problem goes away and all of the shadows are correct. Does anyone know why this would happen and what i can do to get the correct shadows while standing in a shaded area? Thanks
Macer
Yeah, Its a bug in the shader programing that is well known and has plagued sketchup for years. There was a fix is sketchup4, you could tick a checkbox somewhere in the preferences (Carmack shadow correction) to sort it out. Unfortunately it was removed from the more recent versions due to a licensing restriction. Your best bet is to avoid passing through any areas of shadow (during animations) whilst outside, and when you make the transtion to inside just change the set up on your pages to alter the lighting (shadows off - is safest) and darkness etc to blend as best as possible. Unless you happen to have a copy of SketchUp4 lying around!
