Vray light reflecting when not meant to!!! Help

Ahh. So you are talking about actual specular reflections, anything with glossiness of less than 1? I don't think that was Guitarboy's question. At least it didn't sound like it was. But I think I understand what you are saying. In order to get the blurry reflection of the light off the floor for example, you would need to create a seperate light or object to serve the purpose of specular reflection and the original light only casting light, no speculars. Is that right? I think the only time you would have a problem is when you don't have blurry reflections (like my third image) right? I have never seen the actual light ambience being affected by unchecking affect specular. I'm with you Chris, I have never had the need to seperate the 2. As the first image illustrates, affecting specular is working for me, as long as my reflections are blurry.

Anyhow, I've beat this horse enough.

Thanks Tim for the examples,

this is exactly what I was talking about.

In my case blurry reflections are out of the question as my tiles are supposed to reflect the opposite wall with complex details.

Blurring the reflection won't make it look realistic.

In my kitchen looking at my tiles I can see perfectly the other side of the kitchen. This is the case that is annoying when you see your light source reflection in your tiles in my case vray spherical light even after assigning the light to be invisible.

Thanks Again,

Cheers Tim.;)

Hey, sorry everyone, it seems people are getting confused by my original question. Reading back over it now, i'm even confused with what I was exactly trying to ask. Guess because I'm still fairly new to vray and 3d, plus being quite confused to start with when I asked isn’t a good combo.

Anyway thanks for all the responses, my questions have been answered plus potential question too, even learnt a few new techniques too. :) I owe everyone a beer or 2 if I ever get the privilege of meeting any of you. (Those I don’t meet, we'll have a drink in your honor ;) )
