SunGlare
How to load camera or light xyz, from max file to AE6.5? Maybe some cross file export. If You know how to do it in Combustion, feel free to write. I want to create some live video camera tracking project, I have camera XYZ from tracked footage, I want to add some 3d to it.. and some effects form composition software like AE. Everything else i can figure out but how to transfer 3d cam to AE 3d cam. I know that other 3d packages like Cinema4D, allow to do that. Help. Thanks. PS. anyone know good moviemaking/video-effects/post-prod FORUM?
thatch
You could render an rpf sequence out of max, which AE will read the camera info from. What tracking software are you using? you should be able to export your camera straight from the track to an AE file format. Boujou uses .ban files which requires a plugin from the 2d3 website other programs shoud do something similar.
Nils Norgren
http://www.boomerlabs.com/cart/product.php?productid=8&cat=3&page=1 This is the best way, you can get camera, and node information into AE, which is better than just the camera via RPF, the problem with RPF is that you end up with a camera but no context to know where things are in space, with this utility you can get nodes (think dummies) and make null objects in AE which can help you locate 2d assets in 3d in AE and they will stick to your renders. The best option is a .ma file into AE which imports as a comp, with a point cloud of nulls and a camera with all the correct camera information, although this is not available anymore, you can get an .ma file out of boujou. We use max2AE but we also have an in-house .ma writer that will get all the camera, dummy and rendering information in one shot. -Nils
