kamikaze
Hi ive seen alot of good renderings but im thinking, when i render out. . . my 3d becomes artificial bec. of the plants. Any ideas as to where i can get good vegetation(ex. 3d or not is ok)..... I need to render exeriot pool scenes with good looking and updated plants and trees. Id like to achieve this. Any suggestions?? thanks

ipxstudios
try this - takes 3d vray proxies of trees and vegetaton and will only render detail closest to the camera. With the full version you can paint specific areas and populate with multiple tree species, etc. Works great with large areas of vegetation and handles millions of polygons well. http://www.gugila.com/
alexg
IMO, onyx tree is the best. Nice details, and with vray proxy you can populate the image nicely.
renderbeads
Mabuhay! I got my trees at evermotion. Nice trees. I got 3ds max 9 and vray 1.5 RC3. I'm learning 3ds max and vray.

skana
You might also want to check out natFX (http://www.bionatics.com) and use their 3D mode, which seems to work well with Vray...see some images on their site for samples...
mfured20
we just bought onyx last week and used them in our most recent project. they look great, im super pleased. i also dled a couple of xfrog plants as a test, and they seemed to work well enough, but we gritted our teeth and shelled out for onyx. Tim Saunders
there are a lot of great trees out there, but what about shrubs? I have the complete collection of xfrog, and there are only about 4 shrubs I can use. Everything else is foreign to my region. I checked out the easynat stuff and there are still only a couple of theirs that would even be usable. Sense there as so little of a selection out there in 3d, I just end up spending a couple hours each rendering to use the got3d shrubs and archifx clip maps. I hate having to spend that much time in post processing, but I just haven't found anything that looks better.
mfured20
um, i think that our onyx comes with some shrub presets, ill check... no idea how usable they are. most of our projects are in nevada, so i doubt we will be able to use them, but i'll let you guys know.
