Brighten this thing up! A glasswalled cinema would be pouring light onto the street, casting long shadows from the throngs of people coming to see....hey, maybe some people would be good, too?

Use light to focus attention onto the entrance, and color saturation. Let the foreground get fuzzy, ill-defined.

While I like the VW, the golf-cart car is distracting. Also--the green glass areas near the entrance--wouldn't they have movie posters in them?

from a composition stand point, i would raise the view level. .....showing more sky, and less ground usually is a good thing in the cg environment, unless there is something really interesting to show on the ground.

i am not sure why this is. either ground planes in cg environments just don't meet expectations, or ground planes in general are dirty things, and the sky represents clear unlimited horizons, you are looking into the heavens. maybe i am being to ideal in saying that, but i do believe there is something there, and i imagine it is a combination of both.

The shadow form the lamp post looks strange. Is the shadow coming rom the car lights or the lamp post? If it is from the car lights, then lights should be hitting road too. If not, PS some of the shadow to be less contrasting. Are there lights coming from the bottom of the brick wall? If not, the wall sconces should only be hitting the wall above, not below the sconces. Just some thoughts.

Thanks for so many replies. Yep, I know I need a lot of people - it does look closed.

I'll get rid of the Smart Car - perhaps replace it with a minivan and move it further from the camera.

Good advice on POV. I'll move the camera down a bit and angle it more toward the sky.

Looking for movie posters to place in the frames. Any help on this would be appreciated.

About the light pouring from the glass wall - wasn't sure about how much - I'll continue to tweak that aspect.

This is exactly what I needed. Thanks again everyone...good to get fresh eyes evaluating.
