AJLynn
We're (still) using AutoCAD 2006, and we've got a Xerox 6030 series laser plotter on Windows networks printing. We have some people using Sheet Set Manager and some just sending plots old school. We'd like to have a plot info stamp added to the bottom right corner of our plots with the file name and location, user name of the person who sent the plot, and time and date. I've seen this done before - anybody know how?
AJLynn
I should clarify- What I'm looking for is a way to standardize plot stamping across a studio group in the firm - all plots have a stamp unless the person plotting them turns it off, e.g. for a final submittal set. neko
andrew i might not have the definitive answer for you, but i have a few suggestions... 1.) autocad has it own plot stamp feature. look in the options menu (OP) for the 'plot/publish' tab. there should be boxes for name/date/time/user and such 2.) try using fields as text objects and add them to your titleblock (as a block?). i've never really tried this myself, but i can't see why it wouldn't work. it certainly would allow you more flexibility. i've always had a .lsp routine that would update the plot stamp when you saved the drawing. this always worked well for us. you can find many of these routines online, i'm sure. when you mention the ability to turn it off, i suppose you might want to have a layer that can be frozen or made no-plot, but if it isn't done automatically, nobody will remember to do it ! hope that helps paul
