Freelance 2D Cad Drawing - Price??

Well, there are a few options.

 

1) Charge a rate per hour. Take your billable rate from work..say $75 an hour (or whatever it is, i'm assuming you work for a firm and are paid a salary, if not, then use a reasonable number) divide that by 3= your rate per hour (in this case..$25 an hour)

 

2) Charge by the square foot. Say 2000 s.f. at $.50 a s.f. = $1000

 

3) Beer and wings.

 

All those things depend on complexity, your role as a designer, measuring or field verifying, and your speed and efficiency. As time goes on you'll be able to look at a set of drawings and shoot a fairly reasonable fee and you'll be spot on. The last one i just threw in because sometimes it's not a lot of work, it's fun, it's great experience, and money between coworkers or friends ends up screwing all that up (i've done this many times) Hope that helps!
