JBW77
I can't seem to figure out what I should be putting into the "v-ray license server information" dialog box. In the instruction is says to use the ip address or the server name. I've try both and it still can't find the license. The v-ray license icon shows up in the tray on the server, so it seems as like I have that portion correct. Any help would be greatly appreciated
AJLynn
See if you can ping the server from the client machine, and make sure there's no firewall software on either machine blocking that connection...
JBW77
It ping just fine. It seems like it should work since this is the same server where all of my software licenses are located. (ADT, VIz) Is there any thing to the connection port. Are you supposed to just keep their default 30304 numbers there? I didn't see anything about it. Except for if you were running the license on your local machine.
AJLynn
I don't see why you'd have to change the port. According to IANA 30304 is unassigned so it's unlikely that there's a conflict. Did you try on the Chaosgroup site?
JBW77
Yeah that’s what I tried first. Doesn’t appear to be clear, or I’m just not to smart.
Jeff Mottle
try looking in \Program Files\Common Files\ChaosGroup in the INI file and make sure your key is actually written there. Just this week I had the same problem and for some reason the key was not being recognized. I ended up just copying and pasting it over the one listed in the server dialog and it seemed to have taken then.
JBW77
I check the VRFLServer.ini the key appears to be correct. But just for the fun of it I also re-pasted it. It still says, "could not obtain a License"
AJLynn
This does sound like the kind of thing where Chaosgroup can give you more useful support than we can, have you contacted them?
Christopher Nichols
I agree with Andrew... I would contact chaos via their forum or direct email.
