jman0
Hi, hope i don't get flamed for posting here. I'm weeding through those texture links atm. But i'm looking for a fairly high rez texture of something quite specific. Maybe somebody can help. I'm looking for a wall texture that is made of old stone and brick intermingled. Like this: http //photos3.pix.ie/7F/98/7F985B52329F4BC6ACD0999EB8ED8ADD.jpg Does anybody know where i might get something suitable? That i could make seamless etc? jman0
Yes i can't post a URL because i haven't done 10 posts yet. So the forum doesn't let me. The problem with creating a MASK, is that there is no chance you'd get the bricks and the stones to align as though they've been hand placed side by side like that photo. I think i really need a good photo to use as a texture.
kimblarsen
I would really like to see the list made alphabetical and split by free and commercial as well as having a brief one paragraph description of strengths and weaknesses of each particular texture collection/web site. I will make a start - each entry could look something like this (maybe we should stick this into a Wikipedia entry ?). Arroway is my current favorite texture resource after the free cgtextures.com. Arroway (commercial) http://www.arroway.de Types of textures / collections: Stone, wood, concrete and tiles + a mix collection called edition one Wood: from contemporary flooring, modern parquet floors to rustic floor boards and outdoor patio wooden flooring. Pros: High quality, tilable, large resolution (and most importantly) large size textures (4-8 meters square) textures of real architectural materials in lossless PNG file format. Separate diffuse, bump and specular maps. Low resolution non-watermarked preview textures accessible on the web. Cons: DVDs only (no download option)

bindunarayan
Awesome thread to reach out for, especially if you are one among all those architects who are looking for some great texture resources. I got to tell that most of the texture resources that are listed in this thread are very resourceful, and reliable. Thanks.
