Tamir
Hi Guys I’ve been trying to migrate geometry, UV’s, and materials from Rhino to Maya via fbx* format. When I’ve re tried to open the fbx* file in Maya, Maya spend few minutes sorting out the file and than crashed, even after trying to obtain different setting from the fbx* translator both in Maya and Rhino but still no luck. Does anyone know, what is the best way to migrate geometry from Rhino to Maya?
Maximus3D
Do you need to move your model as nurbs or polygon based to Maya ? if you're gonna move it as a polygonal model then you can first download and install Moi3D from http://www.moi3d.com and load your .3dm model there, then export it via it's excellent .obj exporter and then import your .obj model into Maya. If you wanna move your Rhino nurbs models into Maya and preserve them as nurbs there, well at the moment i don't know how to do that. / Magnus

Tamir
Thanks for the tips guys. I'll give it a try and see how it goes. P.S I have bad experiance with OBJ in the past, couse its not importing materials correctly as well as incresing the number of polygones. we are are working with models with an avarege of 3-5 million poly count, which makes them dificault to deal with as it is. But we went through the Pharo's we will go through this
