Hello friends, i am asking for some suggestions from you:

- We have our office in India.we have done a lot of inland jobs and some jobs from Singapore. We are desparately seeking for new clients overseas. I have tried a no. of times by mailing to different architectural and cg companies with our work profile, but did not get satishfactory replies from anywhere. The reason is may be they think my works are not up to the marks - or may be some other reasons which i don't know.

i want to know, what is the best procedure to get overseas jobs? shall i go through any B.P.O. job agencies? Is there any?

Please see the link below, some of my jobs are there. that will help you to value my jobs.

How can you charge 70% - 90% less what U.S. companies charge for renderings. Why do you undervalue your service so much? Is the difference in the cost of living that great? Do computers and software cost a lot less where you are. I've invested a large sum of money for a computer and licensed software. If I charged $90 / day, it would take half a year of solid working to pay off the investment.

To answer your question, my sense is most people don't want to deal with the time difference or wrongly percieved language barrier. The developers usually have fairly large budgets for marketing materials. They're used to paying a more normal rate for marketing renderings.

I would also say that your market is flooded with companies trying to do exactly what your doing. Some people say they charge next to nothing for renderings because they use pirated software. Is that true?

wow...that's hard, it's hard us to see those country like india coming to our market and break the prices, but we are the one who decided for this rule.

we don't have to be surprise that they get more competitive than us and that big company like Mittal buy our best companys.

Anyway, if we are close to our clients, giving them an exelent service we always have an avantage for being a local player. i talked to my clients here in luxembourg and they all understand how important it is to have someone next door who can solve their problems with creative solutions.

so i think there is no reason to panic or being afraid. when India raise quality they will have to raise their prices also, i already know some companys who where disapointed that indian engeneers are now also getting more expensive.

No, but just like Anirban, I would welcome the opportunity to work on projects in other parts of the world. It's a good thing to be exposed to a variety of styles and methods of construction.

I just think it's important to note that there is great work to do anywhere you look and the topic could apply to people everywhere though I don't expect a great deal of advice to come rushing in.

Maybe Anirban can give some advice on obtaining contracts for large scale projects in India?

For my part, I would suggest he search for partnerships in India with companies that work with the ones he is interested in doing business for (wherever they are). If he is interested in residential dvelopment, perhaps he looks into contract furnishing suppliers in India.

John, do you mean you want to go live and work in India?

I believe there is a bit of intended Irony in Johns remark. ALthough I would jump at a chance to move to certain parts of India. Goa or Varanasi. Not Bombay (sorry Mumbai) or Delhi.

First off this is a pretty important thing to talk over. Good topic.

Yes the cost of living is vastly different. It does not compair - don't think it does. When I was in India a little room on the beach a 50cc scooter and all my food cost less than $4 per day. Total.

I do know a local firm who uses Indian renderers and they charge $4-$6 per hour. The local firm has used them for years and while the quality is sub par they can justify the price.

Now people on this side need to understand that this is a good wage. The rendering outfit in India lives really well. They claim they live in very nice houses and can afford servants and live in massage therapists. (Now this is just what I have heard third hand I have not been to their houses or seen pictures. And I have no idea if that is typical for an Indian Rendering comapny to do that well.). But I think that this is important to understand that some of these companies are doing well for themselves at a huge fraction of what we charge. If you are thinking these are all starving hackers you may be in for a shock. I would hate to generlize too much but my experiance was that $40-50 per day would be a really substantial amount of money.

As far as whether or not many of these companies are using pirated software well I imagine a lot are. That is a huge problem.

Now the company I know of has almost nothing good to say about the experiance. There is a language barrier but also a technical/artistic barrier. But that is probably more individual and like most experiances will be different with different companies and people. What cracks me up is that the local company is into "quality" and puts "quality" in everything else except the illustrations which they like because they are so cheap the Archi doesn't even bill the clients for the work he pays for it out of his pocket.
