Buffalo Bills
Here is a piece I'm working on for a client who rents out office spaces for large law firms. They asked to place lots of banker's boxes and people. So critique away. Thanks http://www.cgarchitect.com/forum/filepush.asp?file=Bankers_Box_Room.jpg
Sawyer
Actually I cannot imagine a less attractive space. But thats just me try more shadows seems like the banker boxes are missing shadows.
Buffalo Bills
Sawyer. I couldn't agree with you more about the space, but you know what, It is out of my power to be selective when it comes to work arriving in the office. The shadows on the other hand are hard to control in this scene for some reason. I'm using the photometric linear lights from Viz4, which I believe are suppose to represent flourescent tube lighting. Just looking at images with light sources like those they seem to diffuse the shadows when you have a lot of those lights in one area. Have any pointers or suggestions?? kainoa
I agree with Sawyer. Also, the woman in the middle (the one with the curls) looks out of place imo. I think it's the way she's lit. The image looks better when i cover her w/ my hand.
mbr
If you have time, take a look at some photos in some arch. magazines. Personally, I like the people to fall away to the space. The realistic way to do this is blurring the ones in motion (in the foreground) and the ones closer to the camera. To me, the people stick out too much and make the space look cramped, actually smaller than it is.
Buffalo Bills
Thanks for all the comments, However I still don't understand why my photometric lights aren't casting enough shadows on the objects built in Viz4, like the boxes Sawyer mentioned. I believe with all the lights in the room, Isn't there a chance the lights would wash out the shadows? Mbr I updated the image with blurring the people in motion like you suggested. Let me know if this is satisfactory. http://www.cgarchitect.com/forum/filepush.asp?file=BankersBoxRoomBlur.jpg
mbr
I'd look at some photographs. It's just a suggestion, don't know if it will really work with this interior. I just notice the edges of the people (where someone cut them out). Here's what I was thining of, but, again, just a suggestion.
