redzuan3828
I got one problem. I can't move my object to the point I want using snap point. It seem like my gizmo dictate that moving. How to fix it:confused:
batteryoperatedlettuce
I don't know exactly what you're trying to do but I'll take a guess. if you're dragging an object in perspective view, have you set the "snaps toggle" to 3 rather than 2.5? If you are using 2.5 you won't get the correct position as the xyz coordinates will be based on the viewing axis rather than the world. --- If that's not the problem, right click the snaps toggle and see what settings you are using to snap, I usually have "vertex" "mid point" and "end point" switched on. --- if you are trying to align a pivot or rotate an object around the pivot, make sure your piviot is set to the correct position. you can do this in command panel>heirachy>adjust pivot roll out. --- If your problem is not related to any of the above, please send an image or more detailed description of what you're trying to do. bborne
Some ideas to solve this: - Is your gizmo on? Check it, under Customize > Preferences > Gizmos (tab) - Check if you have axis constraints on, Look for this in the axis constraints toolbar under "Snap use contrstraint toogle" + Bruno Borne
batteryoperatedlettuce
Looks OK... I'm stumped. Email me the file. batteryoperatedlettuce@gmail.com
redzuan3828
Hai batteryoperatedlettuce It seem the gizmo lock my movement, when the z axis gizmo yellow then I only can move to that direction up and down although I pick from point to the point that I want. The snap point on. To solve this problem I off snap point first then get x & y gizmo yellow (active) then snap on again then I can move to my point I want but only x & y axis direction because i can't select 3 axis in one time. How to Unlock that situation... when I open in another computer it ok. Also no problem With z axis gizmo yellow It look like my 3ds max have a problem. How to solve????? batteryoperatedlettuce But I will give the file,if you want it. thanks guy
redzuan3828
I'm got the solution already.... You must uncheck Use Axis Cobstraints under Grid and snap settings>option>translation Thanks guy :D
batteryoperatedlettuce
There's no problem with your copy of 3d max. If you want to align it in 3d space and be sure it's in the right place you can use the orthographic view ports to align it on two axis first then switch to another view to align the thrid i.e... Switch to front view, move the window into the correct position then switch to top view and align it there. You might have an easier time moving things without the gizmo. Try the following. 1)Press "x" on your keyboard to get rid of the gizmo 2)in the snaps options check "use axis constraints" and turn on the appropriate snaps - mid point, end point and vertex. 3)switch to front view (push f). There should now be an axis guide centered on the pivot point of your object. if you are using the default colors, the red arrows are the axis, along which your object can move. The other axis will be grey. --push f5 on your keyboard. you will now be locked to the x axis when you translate --push f6 on your keyboard. you will now be locked to the y axis when you translate --push f7 on your keyboard. you will now be locked to the z axis when you translate --push f8 on your keyboard. you will now be able to move the object along two axis - repeadedly push f8 to switch between the axis selections. after you have aligned the window in the front view push "t" to switch to top view. use the axis constraints to lock movement along the appropriate axis and then move your object into position. It should now be aligned perfectly along the three axis. (edit - I never use the gizmo, I hate it. It's one of the first things I get rid of if I have to install max.)
