MarkC-UK
Can anyone answer a burning question for me please? If, for example, I have an editable poly objectand I use the ATTACH command to attach several other objects to it can I then reverse this command? Is there a command that will 'undo' the attach command and split the attached objects into the original seperate parts? Thx in advance!
Ricardo Eloy
Sure. Simply select the elements that you want to detach and hit... DETACH.
Claudio Branch
Yes... Once you have attached them you can reselect them in there original entirety by using the "Element" sub-object type and then "detach" them. "Detach" will query you to specify if the detached element is to be a clone or separate object. If you attach/detach standard primitives, they will permanently lose their parameters and collapse into meshes.
MarkC-UK
Thanks for the answers guys. I thought you might be able to detach them and they would stay as a primitive but, as you say Claudio, they change into editable polys. Cheers!
batteryoperatedlettuce
things become meshes if they are detached from a mesh and polys if they are detached from a poly.... splines if they are detached from a spline etc etc
