Chad Warner
Well, so far select similar is pretty cool. I haven't really noticed anything different other than that.
vizwhiz
i just Tried a couple of different experiments with The fn FileLink reload, FLM and so far nothing has worked out satisfactorily, so what i ended up doing was 1st i made some changes To The same file and reloaded it with changes This didnt work. The material assignments went somewhere else (LOST) Then Thinking of an almost forgotten Techniques from The way-back machine i Tried copying out The same file with a different name, and Then saving This new files back To The original file name (not using a different name for The reload) and This did not work i have used This Technique a LOT in autocad xreffing (which at least worked) but no such luck so what gives with This fn FLM???? by The way i am using Autocad Architecture 2008 (The software formerly know as ADT) and The current max9 with The latest and greatest service Pack downloaded and installed no fn such luck, This sux i guess This is a race between Maxwell and Autodesk To see who puts out a piece of #(%*& software That actually works as stated for me FLM is a big deal, especially since i model in autocad b4 FLM into max9
Justin Hunt
I installed the Productivity pack and very quickly uninstalled it , It corrupted my file in a bad way. Sorry to say I think its related to the FLM. Half the geometry dissapeared and then crash, corruption. Luckily I had a backup. Once the productivity pack was uninstalled the FLM worked again. Does anyone know if it possible to have two versions of Max 9 installed on the same machine, one with the pack and one with out? JHV

JHV i followed chad's suggestion, and duped my 3dsmax9 directory before i tested it. it screwed my default settings, so i renamed it 39smax9_productivity, and renamed my copy 3dsmax9. both versions will launch without a problem, although i haven't messed with the productivity version, other than to launch it. Chad Warner
Well I'm royally screwed here, cause I can't uninstall the productivity pack and my file link manager is acting all kinds of strange.

Chad Warner
Uninstalling and all that isn't a problem, I guess I'm a little upset that its a "productivity pack" and I'm definitely being much less productive because of it.
lmd33
the only way i have been able to keep matrerial assignments to linked geometry - even when i start with the correct settings in FLM - is to start a scene with a template with linked geometry from an earlier version - viz4.
