supaslims
Howdy, this is a composite i've been recently working on. I think im happy withthe lighting, surfaces etc. but not sure about actual placement. Im generally happy with the results so far but something about the placement just dont sit well! I've also put a WIP in for this months challenge some feedback on that would be good too http://www.cgarchitect.com/news/newsfeed.asp?nid=1068 cheers
ingo
I think Iain can explain the perspective problems in your montage The reflections are a bit to strong and look weird, and it seems that you mirrored the picture since the cars drive in the wrong direction Lighting is great but take care of your montage. Nice picture, terrible architecture.

Look at the traffic signs: they're correct. [] Rick
supaslims
Well spotted Rick...i live in Australia. We drive on the left hand side of the road. But IMHO we drive on the right side of the road Anyway, point noted in the case of the reflections. And i might have to delve into the camera matching forum which seems to be full of some interesting facts i havent spotted in the past. kid
Hi, here's your problem: You've got two solutions; 1. move your camera target up to increase the vertical convergance on your building and rerender(or squish the image in photoshop) or 2. manipulate your background image to reduce the vertical convergance then place your building in. Number 2 is probably the better option in this case, as the buildings to the right look like they're sinking backwards into the ground.
supaslims
eeeeexcelent...tnx kid! I quickly did up this, i think it's an improvement..perspective wise anyway i think its getting there! nisus
before compositing, get rid of the WAWAWAX in the original picture. Next draw a horizon and make it at exactly half the height of your original image (add canvas to the bottum). Place your camera: camera and target at the samhe heigt. Match the view. Render and crop again rgds nisus
salty_dogs
yeh nisus gots it right: semi-threepoint perspectives are for kids. fix that photo first. then get your verticals vertical. checkout any first rate architectural monograph, see any threepoints? no way. darken that forground too and you'll be halfway there.
