mskin
I was in the middle of post production and my boss told me that the entire site is changing. he asked me to get my digital bulldozer out. This is where is was. its seams a bit cartoony to me and that bothers me. The trees are going in post production because i haven't been able to figure them out with mental ray yet - i think my angle is slightly off. since im going back to remodeling the site, input would be usefull. Guest nazcaLine
1. it looks washed out to me. what's your software? makes me remember the radiosity days: always washed out. if it's vray, maybe you're using exponential color mapping. 2. the trees are not favoring your work. 3. it lacks life. put a good background image, add cars, maybe people, bushes, etc. maybe a low angle would be better if you are not planning to put more background. mskin
it is washed out. im using mental ray with no fg or gi... my machine just cant crank it out fast enough with all this freaking glass (that will get VE'd out anyway), but more of an issue were the red spots showing up because of the ray traced glass during FG. I decided to deep six GI due to time constraints and did an AO pass to simulate a bit of GI yes to background image. I made my boss stand over my shoulder and choose the angle he wanted so im stuck with this one. I was scolded for my original perspective that had the camera 6'0" above the ground - is that wrong or something? I wasn't done with the trees when i posted because boss changed site, but im not convinced they would have improved. Im struggling to lean onyx trees. im photo shopping them in - again because of lack of computing resources. im hoping to resolve the lume facade shader prior to rendering this out agoain so that i can put the trees in the scene

Guest nazcaLine
You need to tell your boss to upgrade your computer. Can't make the Mona Lisa via Etch-A-Sketch... yep. believe me, if you lack pc resources (like me) don't use mantal ray, try scanline render in exterior, it's cheap, it's fast and acceptable quality. look at the resources tab in this page, look for the montree lighting tutorials, they're great.
