andreg
Hi all, I've been having this problem ever since I got v-ray and never been able to fix it. When I render a scene locally on my workstation everyting renders fine but when I use DR, I always get either a black bucket or the v-ray window can't find the dll on the render node. I have checked and the dlls are all there in the plugins folder on the render node. When I render v-ray lights or anything else, DR works fine. I've been starting to use these (sun/sky/cam) alot since they are so amazingly easy to work with but then I'm able to render on only my workstation. This is a big problem because it takes longer to render my scenes using only one computer. I'm using a Boxx workstation (2x dual opteron 285) and one render node (Boxx also) with XP pro, max8SP3 and v-ray1.5-RC3. We are looking to buy more nodes from them and I want to fix this issue before we get more machines. If you need more info or more specs just let me know. Note: I also posted this on v-ray forum, hpoe you guys don't mind
Ricardo Eloy
I'm curious... are you using V-Ray's DR or Backburner?
andreg
I use a bit of both depending on the situation. Why do you ask? Is it better one way versus the other? btw Thanks for replying
Ricardo Eloy
Not sure which one would be better... it's just that some people say V-Ray's DR is a bit unstable. Does the same thing happen using both?
andreg
yes. Edit: I solved my problem... The plugin.ini file was loading the v-ray plugins before the max plugins on the render node

lindsaylou4
I see this is an older post-- but can someone tell me where exactly i need to change this line of code? I seem to have the same problem and am missing the vray sun and vray camera options all together! I want to uninstall and reinstall, then change the lines of code to make it work. Anyone know?
