muzzy
This is my first try with vray & max 6 Please advise any setting is high or anything that I can do to improve this. I am not sure but rendering time is about 30-45 min @1024x768 including calculation of irradiance map. Caustics are also turned on. All materials are vray material. C&C welcome. Here are the settings
pailhead
Well, you could try increasing inerp samples as far as the irradiance map is concerned. But, those splotches on the wall are from photon map. But its a long story, checkout vray.info and vray forums for tutorials on those. My quick suggestion would be try with "max density=1" search distance = 5 and lights diffuse subdivision at 2000.
radioVOY
its a good image good desing but i think its to much time what hardware have you?
muzzy
My quick suggestion would be try with "max density=1" search distance = 5 and lights diffuse subdivision at 2000 Here is the image with those settings Thank you pailhead but I don't see that much diffrence. Is it because of using irradiance map ? Should I only use photons ? And exact rendering time is 12 min for irr. map calculation and 2 min for rendering. Any other advice from vray masters to reduce rendering time.Hardware p4 2.4 , 512 ram Thanks [ January 21, 2004, 10:02 PM: Message edited by: muzzy ]
jucaro
Caustics is a killer. It eats too much render time. Disable caustic computations as it isnt pretty much relevant in the current scene. The light passing through the glasswares isnt that much needed to accomplish overall illumination.
Coreyhrpr
Under Global Photon Map I would try increasing your bounces to 30 or 40 Under Irradiance Map Lower your First diffuse bounce multiplier to 1, your secondary bounces to .5 or .6 under the GBuffer/Color mapping use HSV with settings like Dark Multiplier 3 Light Multiplier
muzzy
Thanks, I will try it and post the result.
pailhead
If you don't mind sharing the scene, i could try lighting it and see what could be done.
