ChooChoo
Working on some appliance models. This is where I'm starting. Modeled in Revit which has a terrible time with rounded surfaces. I might replace them with modeling in Max. Makes huge files in Revit for me though. Lighting is a bit off also. Material too.
ChooChoo
Oh LOL, it's a Sub Zero PRO 48" wide refrigerator.
Crazy Homeless Guy
this type of work should definetly be done in Max over Revit. Revit is great for cordination, and documentation, but it is not built around the concept of detail and realism in its models. create your spaces with Revit, but add everythign else in Max. Ernest Burden III
Are you doing this modeling work because you want to learn? Otherwise, there are a lot of appliance models available in various places, including many free ones. Increasingly, manufacturers are providing models to encourage designers to spec their lines. ChooChoo
The Revit community is short on models. This is to help fill the void. Thus the modeling in Revit. Sub Zero gave dwg files, but they weren't models. Just linework and a 3d view. But yes, also for learning experience also. I'm not very good in the overall scheme of modeling and rendering and lighting and I guess I might as well throw mapping in there too LOL. I'm better at Revit than Max. Rendering is just a bonus to me. Everything seemed to come out fine except handles. It's not highly detailed, but for the Revit community, it's excellent. I just thought some feedback would tell me how it really is and it certainly is not top notch which is fine. I still have some work to do! Thanks for the critiques everyone. I will start brushing up on my Max modeling and see just how big it gets going back into Revit. It's usually a gigantic file by the time it gets there. Oh how I wish Max and Revit would combine to make one program.
