Noise
Hi We are looking at GPS systems to help with locating the camera for photomontages and general site information gathering for visual impact studies. Has anyone got a tried and tested GPS that they use to get accurate readings ? We are presently looking at the Magellan Explorist 600 but it might be too much for our needs. Thanks N
BrianKitts
I saw a review of SONY's new unit on tv the other day. It looked rather impressive but without playing with it myself I couldn't give a proper comment on if it's really good. But the pricerange doesn't seem too bad.. http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start?ProductSKU=GPSCS1KA&CategoryName=acc_DIAccessories_gpstracker&DCMP=FROOGLE&HQS=GPSCS1KA http://www.dpreview.com/news/0608/06080202sonygpscs1.asp I'm not sure the accuracy of it this unit can be specific enough for architectural montages. Crazy Homeless Guy
i was going to suggest Europes Gallileo system for accuracy, but i didn't know it is still in the initial stages, and is not schedule to be completed until 2011 anyway. i have read that the commercial version of it will provide GPS accuracy under 10cm, possible down to 5mm. no hiding now. when i worked commercial construction, we had buildings that were more out of whack than that, so i assume it would be accurate enough for visualizations. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galileo_positioning_system ....so in the end, i geuss my post is useless, but there are accurate solutions on the horizon.
