sdds
Hi all, I am going to London tomorrow. Got a list of companies to visit and basically going to knock on doors and ask to be seen....going to be nervous as hell doing this am naturally a quiet person:( . Ive got a bunch of business cards & a few bits of work to take with me oh and a copy of my cv. Hope I am making the right move, but like some have said anyone can call or email, but turn up your harder to get rid of... Any advice for this inexperienced chap? Iain Denby
I would have made appointments first. You may be lucky and be seen there and then. Good luck.
Brian Cassil
I don't know how the market is for Viz work in the UK but if your portfolio is good I think you will at least be able to set up some appointments to go back to.

Limbus
Good luck. I´m in the same position right now and need to call potential clients. Not much fun but it needs to be done. Florian

Noise
You can always phone up the company and ask who is the member of staff who deals with recruitment - this is the best way if you don't know anyone in the company.

sdds
thanks all, for your support. Got to see no one yesterday...but obtained names and phone numbers. Sure its a hassle walking round finding the firms and going in on the off chance but people where surprisingly helpful. Glad I did it felt like I was doing something instead of staying home using the phone, email etc. I am going to set myself and do this leg work once a week. Liza
The problem I find with phoning people is half the people who answer the phone don't know what a visualiser is to put you through the right person. If there are visualisers already there you may stand a chance with their recruitment officer perhaps. There's something to be said for just getting out there and doing it. Go show them who you are. Make an impact. Glad it went well for you and you didn't bump into too many "too busy" people to put you off. A healthy level of confidence plays a major part in getting somewhere. It's not nice being knocked back at anytime, let alone when you're after you're first break. Well done, and all the best for your future. Let us know how you get on. Noise
If your attitude is good and your work is appealing then you will have no bother - incidentially, that works in general for business also. Again, good luck and as Liza said - lets know how you get on.
