daniohayon
Does anyone have a good size brick map that could simulate this walls? I don't feel like drawing it in photoshop at all...

Ernest Burden III
Nothing? We may have a client in common. I feel like I've seen those pictures before. What program? You could do a lot with noise patterns. The easiest way, short of painting it by hand, would be to make a bunch or rectangles in 3D, then randomize their X, Y and Z size so that they arrange themselves in sizes and layers and render a plan view. Then, in Photoshop make it seamless with the offset filter technique. OR Look at the sticky thread about textures on the web, you could find a good existing map. EDIT: What program...now I see what forum its in, sorry for the studid question. Also--that's not slate.
STRAT
any of these any good? (they dont seamlessly tile, but thats no great shakes to correct ) The easiest way, short of painting it by hand, would be to make a bunch or rectangles in 3D, then randomize their X, Y and Z size so that they arrange themselves in sizes and layers and render a plan view. Even constructing a photo texture is a better option if reality is needed imo. but, if ur not going to be that close to it then the proceedural method could be the way to go. daniohayon
We may have a client in common. I feel like I've seen those pictures before. ...more like our client has a client that has a common client ...this project is very old. I thought someone will recognize it from all the work that was done. The plain view render is a graet idea, would save a lot of time in the photoshop way(i'll keep it in mind). Didn't realy know the name of the brick, but it is the way autodesk named similar map in the Arch maps(also come right on google right...but no good maps) START, the first map is pretty close. I'll try to ad some colors to match the wall. Much thanks.
daniohayon
Masonry Ashlar!
Andy Park
Do you have the architectural material, the texture you want is in there.
daniohayon
The ones I have do not match. It's the same idea but wont fly for the model...unless you have something I don't.
AJLynn
I made am ashlar procedural map. Only spent a couple minutes on it, so it's a half-ass ashlar, hence the name... But with some editing it might work. (Double all column and row counts and halve the gap size to make a larger map, massage the color and fade variances in both tile maps and all the random tiling values, make all grout white or neutral with an even smaller gap for diffuse map, make a bump map version and reflect and glossy map versions...) batteryoperatedlettuce
Because I want to use that first map myself (if that's ok), and because I know you're too fat and lazy to do it yourself, I fixed the seams on that map for you. http://www.bol.fenixnet.net/wall.jpg
daniohayon
The map didn't work, the order of the bricks is fine but the color and texture is very different...good work on the seem batteryoperatedlettuce. The tile in tile idea could have worked if the maps were not ont top of each other but one inside the other. you can really see the long strait lines cut through the map. My attempt was to make the map in photoshop and create the disp and bump maps with layers. I got somewhat close but I'm having some problems with the colors...feel free to modify.
