Exellite
Hi, I'm really new to all this rendering for realism stuff so be gentle I wanted to create an inner city flat with an arched window so decided to model this in my spare time, I still have modelling to do like redo the quilt as it looks very dodgy, also things to add like a rug and some plants and random stuff you would get in a normal bedroom. I will also need to change the background as it is getting affected by the light which i didnt want, the original image is the colour I wanted (not quite sure how to go about doing that, as the image is on a plane behind the window and not a background image). And as you can tell I'm only half way through texturing, apart from that any extra crits are VERY welcome, personally I think its looking ok but its still not looking as real as I want it, also dont watch the quality of the render, its just a test, IR is set to low and I have low light cache settings. kind regards Mark

batteryoperatedlettuce
I think it's pretty good. Reflection on the glass picture is about right. Did you put a fall off in the reflection slot for the wood floor material? I'd work a bit more on the ceiling, and I agree with you about the duvet - it looks dodgy. Also, looking at the city-scape view from my window here, and comparing with your rendering, I think your blacks/dark tones in that background image are far too dark. Perhaps lower the contrast out there and wash out the really dark areas a bit. I think when you finish off your modeling, clean up some of the textures and up the render settings - it should be a simple, but fairly good rendering.
