edub
http://maxon.net/pages/dyn_files/dyn_htx/frm/02011_02012.html Anyone interested in this? I'm checking out Maxon's site to see if it will be useful. Maybe if models are imported from Vectorworks? I gotta give props to Maxon for supporting the arch vis users, regardless if I'll use the Arch Ed. or not.
leed
I wonder how many architects use c4d... It does nothing for me though... No AR improvements, so no Gi animation.... It is just a library of textures and models rapped round a core C4d pack... Lee
transformav
Here Here!! Looks like another nice way for C4d to sell the product with a different badge. Extra models and materials are all good but the essentials as mentioned already GI animation and Vray capabilities are more essential to us archi vis users. I am loyal to C4d user but this edition will be no use nor ornament to me. Libraries can be obtained from wherever and so can materials, the best ones are probably made by yourself. Any just my two pence worth!!! Martin

edub
has anyone been able to find more info about the "shift camera object to maintain parallel vertical lines"? this sounds useful, to avoid 3-point perspectives when tilting the camera - but how does it work, and does it work well?? that "virtual walkthrough tool" looks a little hokey, especially walking up stairs, but is that a real-time GI walkthrough I spotted in the animation on the website?? btw, what's the price on this?... nothing on maxon web shop (us). If you are using 9.6 there is a tilt camera that does just that... Look for it in the content browser. Lee

It is just a library of textures and models rapped round a core C4d pack... Lee That's my reaction reading the presser. I have been on Maxon's case since I bought v8 for an improved DXF (or better yet DWG) importer that would translate blocks (a.k.a. symbols) into C4D instance objects. How hard can that be? I don't see that in this package. I'll ask Maxon, but I doubt its there. Next I'll ask the wiz plugin writers on CGtalk if they could write one. Overall, this architectural package seems to be more about selling content than application.
leed
Has anybody used the plugin to ArciCad that comes with this Architectural Edition? I have been asked by an Architect friend if it works OK. Lee
adri
yes it works pretty well. got it and you can export from AC and then open the file in C4D. you can also update a model by exporting new elements. cheers nick
