Exellite
Hey, I have searched this forum and google for a while now and still cant find anything along the lines of modelling more complex items such as a particularly tricky couch or some highly detailed facades for building exteriors like tops of columns or those little bits of details u sometimes get below window cills etc. I would be eternally grateful for some links, any of the links I have found either no longer work or are too basic e.g a couple of boxes to make a sofa and so on. Is there a lack of these tutorials around or is it just my lack of searching skills? lol I rekon its the first but I'm more than expecting the latter Thanks very much in advance Mark

Brian Smith
sorry...i dont know any others. alexander (from Intero) and i are discussing the possibility of his writing a book on creating 3D furniture. based on what i've seen from this guy, if it gets written, it's going to be impressive...the guy really knows furniture creation like you wouldnt believe...extremely fast and detailed
SandmanNinja
sorry...i dont know any others. alexander (from Intero) and i are discussing the possibility of his writing a book on creating 3D furniture. based on what i've seen from this guy, if it gets written, it's going to be impressive...the guy really knows furniture creation like you wouldnt believe...extremely fast and detailed This is good news. I question whether a BOOK (dead tree version) would be better than a training set of movies... It's just a great feeling to whack a DVD into the ole computer and WATCH the author talk you through what you see him doing on the computer. Plus, he'd probably sell more, and might possible make more $$$ than going the publisher route? If nothing else, he could do BOTH - do the training videos WHILE he models the furniture for the book. I eagerly look forward to either. The weekly training sessions here are fantastic! I, too, look forward to Week #23. Do I have permission to download these and keep them on DVD (for personal use only)? It may be assumed, but I'm a bit naive...
batteryoperatedlettuce
I'm a big fan of actual books. For a start, (living in China - at any rate) it's going to be easier to make cash selling books, as anything in binary gets ripped off and flogged faster than a bunch of repentant, thirteenth century monks. If anyone makes a book on furniture creation I'll buy it like a shot.
Exellite
I'm the complete oposite, for me a video tutorial is the next best thing to having a tutor in the room with you, plus reading tutorial books does my head in, I tried to learn max from a fundamentals book back on max 3 and didnt get far at all!! it wasnt till i got some vids from lynda.com for max 6 that I started getting into it and actually understanding things alot better, long live video tutorials!!! They're also alot easier to make I would have thought?!?. Anyway, anymore links? there must be some, I dont mind waiting till May 18th but it would be nice to start on something now
MarkC-UK
I learned several good snippets from the 'Loft Modelling' training DVD from 3D Gamics.com. It might be worth a look.
