The caustics are fine, but the shadow looks wrong to me: - the edge is too hard and clean (this is not expected from old/dirty glas) - the shadow looks too even and too dark (it's glass, so I'd expect it to be a bit lighter) - most importantly: the teapot looks solid glass, not like a scale... make it appear hollow and the believeablility will increase tenfold! Crazy Homeless Guy Posted December 24, 2003 Share Posted December 24, 2003 Originally posted by nisus: - most importantly: the teapot looks solid glass, not like a scale... make it appear hollow and the believeablility will increase tenfold! i agree with nisus. something seems off about the way the refraction of the other side is shown. it is refracted as though you were showing a solid ball of glass, like a paperweight. i think (not positive) if you lower the refraction so it is not so drastic, it will make it look hollow, like it should be. i am not sure how this will effect your caustic settings. the feel of the glass surface is great though. maybe you should use more of a counter, or table surface to set it on. this might match up nice with a white tablecloth...??
