Eric
So - anyone using Autodesk Impression yet for production work? I thought I'd give it a try on a single project. It seems pretty glitchy, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to create a masked object such as storefront with glass. I can create the glass easily enough, but can't figure out how to get the storefront to not fill in the entire plane, but only color the actual storefront mullions. The paint bucket works in this case, but because it's not applied as a layer style, it does not update with dwg file updates (from what I've gathered so far). That aside, I love the program. This is exactly the look I try to obtain when I color elevations in Photoshop, but these are updateable with linked dwg files. Awesome program, but needs work. Anyone else using it? Any idea about the masked elements?
TheAllusionisst
If you think ahead when setting up your layers, you will find it much easier to use, you can do this after the fact and update you geometery and changes to the CAD file will take effect in your Impressions file. I would also suggest setting up layers in it for your fills and not using the objects' layer for the layer you fill in. If your mullions are on there own layer and the lines close it should fill in each individual continuous space without a problem.
