Sunset Kitchen

Hello, newbie here. My first attempt at Arch Viz. A piece I'm working on for school. Any comments, crits, help are welcome.

I think its too dark....

 

I know its a sunset, but it doesnt work for me.. It can be a sunset and dramatic.. but this isnt quite that..

 

It looks like there is no real volume to it.. I mean light wise.

 

What software are you using to generate this image..?

Why is the window so low down? Are there windows to the left off-screen?

Hello.

 

Software used is Maya, and rendered in mental ray.

The dark lighting? I know what your saying and I agree. I do have another render that used final gather which is lighter.

There are windows to the left, they just don't show in this composition.

Why is the window so low? It's a trend in Australia lately, well here where I live anyway.

Stainless steel materials need to be finished yet and I'm not quite happy with the floor texture, I'd like far more definition in the grout between the tiles.

Should put some drawers in the cabinets. I'd lighten it up, I would leave the sunset stuff for exterior shots. It's still really dark.

 

I'd get rid of the low windows. Your focus seems split between the window and the kitchen.

 

Definitely the stainless steel materials.
