jophus14
I have a dosch vehicle that I added Vray materials to and I exported it to use in varies scenes at a later date. When I import the vehicle, the carpaint is super dull and I have to re-apply the carpaint material again. Export Max Texture Coordinates is ticked prior to saving. Why is this happening? I did a search and came up empty. Thanks.
hussein
do you mean export as vray proxy ? if that so yes , you have to re assign the material to the car .
jophus14
No. I'm just exporting my selected object (vehicle as a whole) through File>Export Selected. After doing so and selecting my filename and location, Max asks if I want to Export MAX Texture Coordinate. I select OK and my vehicle is exported to the desired folder. When I import the vehicle, some of my textures aren't attached to it.
BrianKitts
are you exporting it for the purpose of transferring to a software other than max? If you are just trying to save out the model for import into other max models use "save selected" instead of export. It will hold all your materials and will solve your problem. then in the new model don't import, use the merge or xref model function and point it to the model you saved out.
