mlove
Attached are some views of a tower I am designing. I am using 3D Studio Max 8 and VRay. I need some help. I am kind of at a stalemate. I want the images to look more realistic but am not sure what to add or change. My concerns: Each floor has a glass wall at each end of the tube but it is not really looking like glass. The lights in the interior night one are way off. The glass in the interior scene looks off as well. Each image needs more but I am not sure what. Any critiques or comments would be great. Thanks, -Mike Love
Crazy Homeless Guy
2 quick things that will help, 1) put a gasket around the edge of your glass. it will do wonders for increasing the detail. 2) make the lights in your night shot 'warm'. i am working on a dusk shot right now. look through a few magazines with good photography, and find a reference image. look at the colors of the lights, the color of the sky, the overall feel of the image. here is the image i am currently using for a lighting reference..... http://www.dwell.com/homes/green/4955831.html also, what is your lighting setup? it looks like omni's floating in middle of the rooom. mlove
Alright sounds good. Seeing as I am fairly new at this...is there anyway to create a quick gasket? I will adjust the light colour to make them more warm. Yes you are right they are omni's floating...I wanted to light up those rooms but not take forever putting in exact lights. Is there a better way to do this? Thanks,
mlove
Attached are the images with a little "warmer" light What kind of furniture/plants/stuff do you think I could add to the interior images to make it more interesting....basically it is just a room a top a public tower. Crazy Homeless Guy
you should be able to sweep a shape around the edge of the glass. maybe .5" x .5". basically, you need somethign there so it looks like it has an edge. as for entourage... what kind of competition is this? a design competition, or a rendering competition. if it is design, i would concetrate more time on refining the details of the design and the model. the way the handrail ends needs resolved, the stair needs looked at, etc.. you need to ask yourself why the boxes are stacked, and if it is a design competition, the answer can not be that you liked the way they looked. mlove
Yes this is a student design competition. We only need one 3D image but from what I have seen the others are using sketchup and stuff so they are pretty basic. There is a reason behind our boxes all being stacked and such. Also the orientation and the shifting of the boxes was programmatically informed by the function inside that space. Attached is another image that I am working on.
