Lebjos
hi, When i put vray sun and sky into my model and then use a physical camera, vray crashes my max. I linked it with a daylighting system but turned off the daylight and skylight parameters which are supposedly what makes it crash. I was wondering if I could light the interior of the building with just a vray light that is the size of the entire facade seeing as how it is all glass behind my columns. Or if there is a better way to light the scene without using the sun/sky system ( although probably not ). Any help would be great, I'm new to vray and have looked at quite a few tutorials but nothing i'm seeing is helping too much. Thanks in advance. Josh *edit* I cant read the error in time when it crashes but if you can tell me where it saves the error to or if it creates a file I would be happy to upload that as well. batteryoperatedlettuce
where is your sun positioned in the sky? I had some issues when I was linking with the daylight system to animate a shadow study. When my vray sun dipped just below the horizon it would crash max - when I used the sun in the same position, but without the daylight system it was rendering just fine. Sorry I don't have a solution, but I'm hoping the additional info might help someone solve our problem.
Lebjos
my sun was at a 11 oclock position, pretty high in the sky. Ill try moving the vray sun and then deleting to the daylight system to see if it doesn't crash.
Lebjos
alright heres an update with a few pictures.... im not too concerned with the sun right now, cause when I even try to just use vray sun it crashes max with an unhandled exception. I cant seem to get the interior of the scene to light correctly. I put one long vray light along the facade which has glass on it behind the columns in elevation, and then tried to just make the vray light go between the columns and in the end took off the glass and tried with just the light in between the columns. Im not doing something right... or i just need to use omnis on the ceiling to lite it better. I was following several interior lighting tutorials but i have a curtain wall and not a punched opening situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. my review is rapidly approaching next friday and have to plot out all my final boards!!!! =( my project is all about lite so im trying to show how the different aspects of hte structure and openings in the roof allow lite into the space however so far im not doing a very good job. please help! Lebjos
here is the final render of how light is supposed to come through the space in the ceiling.
