kwerch
Hey all- another question for you(s)- Is there a way to decrease the bucket size on a 640x480 render for example? Have been waiting for the last bucket to render for about a half hour. Other processor sits idle. Would a larger image size(=relatively smaller bucket size) make any difference in this, "optimizationally" speaking? Regards, Karl
Ricardo Eloy
Go to the System tab. You'll find the initial size set as 64 pixels, if I'm correct. Just be aware that small buckets doesn't mean fast render. In fact, smaller buckets can render slower, sometimes. Now, a silly question: have you tried rendering the image in reverse to see if it still takes a long time in that particular bucket?
chuck
Like Rick said, lower bucket size usually means a longer render time. From what I've read, it takes Vray a certain amount of time to set up each bucket. Smaller buckets can end up using less RAM though, so keep that in mind. Whenever I'm stuck on a bucket it's usually because there's something glossy reflecting something else that's glossy, reflecting something else thats glossy....
