Brian Smith
As I made this post, the hot thread floating around is entitled 'Dealing with oversea's undercutting'. It's ironic because I have to mention that all the Insider Articles are being pushed back one week because of a small disaster brought about by sending a job overseas that's requiring Brian and I to spend an enormous amount of time to fix to meet a Monday morning deadline. We usually just send the modeling phase of a job overseas because the modeling of a project is fairly straightforward and there's little room for artistic interpretation. What we got back was far from acceptable and now we're paying for it. We still completely support the idea of outsourcing (at least the modeling phase) and have a group of very reliable subs, however, for anyone looking to send a job overseas, you might want to limit your outsourcing to modeling and be absolutely certain that your sub knows exactly what you expect. Oh well...they can't all go smoothly.

Parker1
Can you name the last one that "went smoothly"? I can't, they all have their issues
Virgil Johnson
It's things like the books and Insider articles that keep people in this business ahead of the competition. Quality work through effort and learning will always win out. So glad I have access to these resources. Thank you all. Virgil
Brian Smith
Can you name the last one that "went smoothly"? I can't, they all have their issues funny you should ask... that last job we did for you went smoothly because glen did the site properly...unlike the previous ones where the site was not really constructed ideally. ShaunDon
We had a similar experience working with contractors who were going to model everything, but the site was awful. It became apparent that they were completely unfamiliar with how to model a contoured site plan, and we had to work over a weekend to get it done and were still behind on the project. Thanks for all the articles, Brian. I've very much enjoyed reading through them. Shaun
3dSol
it maybe a good idea to have a VI in-depth tutorial on creating terrain models from sites with complicated contours

Chad Warner
would like to get a life sometime soon Having a life is overrated anyways. You know no one here will be happy unless you spend at least another hour a day on the forums helping people.
