3DIFX
Hello all, Could someone clue me in on how I'd go about creating a spline from an editable mesh? I was following 3DAS' Vis Insider tutorial "Week 3 - Creating Site Plans- Part 3" when I came upon the text at the bottom of page 18 that said "Once you separate the road object, you can create a spline from the edges of the road, and use the linework to create a loft representing the curbs". Is there a simple way to do this or do you have to create a spline from scratch using the edges of the road as a guide (which could be time consuming)? Any help would be appreciated greatly. Nic H
Hey there, what I do is convert to editable poly, select the edges I want using loop command or manually pick them then use 'Create Shape From Selection' This makes a new shape and you can choose linear or smooth interpolation. Parker1
Just select the road in the Edit Mesh modifier...then hit the "find open edge" command...once highlighted, hit extract edge to create a new spline which exactly follows the edge of your road.
