ssstrutz
I had a local contractor get in contact with me to do some kitchen layouts and designs for him. I am trying to sell him on the 3d aspect and maybe get a few more bucks for myself along with some valuable experience. The background image will be replaced with a real photo of my backyard.(no that isn't beautiful Wisconsin out those windows! haha) Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Scott
mahorela
from the burning your getting around your windows which I assume is from vray plane lights it seems your colour mapping is on linear (or gamma or reinhard). You should change it to exponential, that will help with the burning and allow you to get more light into the room.
ssstrutz
Thanks for the tip. That worked wonders. Anything else that might help? Do you or anyone know why I get a line of light at the upper corner where the wall meets the clg. I know I have seen this in other threads but couldn't find them. mahorela
normally thats a geometric issue.....ie theres a small gap there or some other modelling problem. Those are some damn big downlights, are they to scale? you also need to correct the verticals on your camera......add a camera correct modifier to it.....will straighten things out. I think then you can concentrate on getting some reflective surfaces in there like your benchtops and taps etc. good luck
ChooChoo
the grain of wood on cabinets almost always goes up and down instead of side to side. Unless it was specifically stated it was going that way. Stiles, vertical, rails horizontal, panels vertical, casework vertical.
Horhe
Dude thats impossible... that kitchen looks exactly like mine !!!!!!! No not really. There should be a horizon line visible outside through the windows, where the ground meets the sky. Unless the kitchen is located on a sth floor that is. Get some reflection into the image. alfienoakes
Nice.. The floor is repeating itself too much.. It looks like you have 2 different tiles in a checker board effect.. unless thats what your after of course.. The background to me, looks like you are in an airship that is headed toward the ground..! just doesnt match. I think sometimes, it better to leave the background out, and just have a really bright contrasty white, rather than a poorly matching environment. The light bleed.. check your geometry as mentioned, but also check your Blur GI value. If its not zero, this could be the cause. Andy
ssstrutz
Hey guys, Thanks for the comments and help. Unfortunately this is my first interior shot and I am still a newbie to max. Can you tell me where the camera correct modifier and blur GI are. I am having trouble finding the settings. Thanks Scott
alfienoakes
Highlight the camera, right click, and Camera correction is on the left hand roll out..select it. then its self explanatory. Blur GI.. go to your render scene dialogue box..renderer tab, then Vray Irradiance map, Blur GI is in the Basic Parameters.. Set the Current preset to how you want it. Then change it to Custom, and you can reset the Blur GI to 0, if its not already that.. Otherwise.. check your geometry as mentioned.
