Vray fur rendering issues!

Hello all,

I found a nice vray grass tutorial at

I am a newbie to vray grass and am trying to find a way to make the grass look real with a sun or other light in the rendering. Every time I add the vray fur into a house rendering with a sun or direct light the render time escalates. I have had time estimates over 70 hours. I am assuming I am doing something wrong.

Also what is the best way to assign vray fur to an object. The tutorial explains how to use a vray plane, but what if I have a modeled object I want to add it to? I am unable to add the fur to other objects.

Can you do it with a nice displacement, and if so how?
