Juliano Rocha
Hi 3d People! i´m posting a test of a interior hall ilumination, with a big opening in the front, from where the sunlight comes in. Please don´t worry about the materials or objects, it´s just about the lights. I´ve only used max´s standard lights, except for the spotlights in the wall, wich are erco lights. It´s max default scanline render. Critics, comments, suggestions are really welcome..... Regard´s, Juliano - Porto Alegre, Brasil if the images above doesn´t work, try this link: http://fotos.terra.com.br/album.cgi/471766
Wilson Iwazawa
e ai Juliano Its hard to talk only about lighting because the material you will choose will affect it. But, anyway, there is a overburn on the light area of the floor, did you use the exposure control? why are you using the standard lights and not the daylight system? Did you want the gray material to be gray? (or white?) Um abraço e aproveita pra melhorar os materiais
Juliano Rocha
hi Wilson. Thanks for the comments. I´m not using radiosity, that´s why the standard lights. And the gray walls are really gray, not white. As i sad, it´s just a lighting test, but i agree with you about how the materials affect the scene.......... Um abraço! SEIF
i guess the space is too dark considering such a large opening..sunlight should have a stronger effect..
Tuninho Prieto
Super Juliano, I agree with SEIF. And I would also sugest you add a bit of yellow to the sun light, to make the overall space warmer. I think the strong light at the back door, should emit more light to that area of the image. The ceiling there is almost black. I think this passage needs some light spots. Depending of what furniture you will have in this space, maybe the sun shoundn´t go too deep inside. keep working

smoke3dstudio
Over all looks good!!! 1. If you play more with the color of light, the scene may look more interesing 2. The illumination from sun on floor should have more glow
Ricardo Eloy
E aí, rapá! Blz? I agree with all the above. Also, I would put an area light outside the window to brighten up the scene as a whole and add some light to the ceiling and floor, the same way it happens in real life. Besides that, it's a nice test! [] Rick
Juliano Rocha
Hi 3D people! first, thanks for all the crittics and comments, they are very usefull to me. I´ve made some changes in the lighting, basically put some light in the back opening and change the colors and multipliers. I dont know, but for me now it´s a little too yellow..........well, maybe just for me......... I´ll keep working for a better solution. That´s it, tanhk you all! Tuninho Prieto
Super Juliano, I think this solution is much better then the first. Maybe is time to finish other things an let the light as it is. If you think the image is too much yellow you can low it a bit, but for me it´s a good starting point. The ceiling is the same grey? And don´t forget to correct the parallax distortion! "Um Abraço" Keep working!
