aja2104
Ok, so i am trying to make an animation that looks like you are riding a bike through a path. I have attached a generic target camera to a path, and then also attached a model of a bicycle to the same path. However, once I preview the animation, the bike appears to be very shaky and make these sudden jerky movements as it progresses along the path. Does anyone know why, or how to prevent this?? Thanks in advance....
jvlive
select all your vertices, right-click, choose smooth. hope that helped.
aja2104
Thank you, I assume you mean that I should make hte verticis along the path, I have done that and the movement is still quite jerky. Any other suggestions??
jvlive
do you have a lot of vertices close to each other?
aja2104
No, they are not too close together. I did not have this problem when I initially attached the camera to the path, meaning that the camera moved smoothly through the model.
Guest nazcaLine
try normalizing the spline. other solution is to replace the original spline with a NURBS curve. (they have no vertices so the movement is a lot smoother) Eduardo
aja2104
That didn't help either!!! I'm running out of time. I am including the file on this post, perhaps you all can take a look? I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you.
Horhe
Its not a matter of the spline itself. The problem lies in the sampling of the path. under the motion tab, select the samples spinner, and add more samples. I understand that you have a spline and you have created the motion path from the spline. Before you create path add some more samples - by default its 10 i think, give it 32 and try it out. The samples option does the same thing to the path as the interpolation does to the spline.
aja2104
I should be increasing hte smaples on the path, right? When I tried that, it did not solve the jittering. I also upped the samples on the spline, the bike itself, and the camera, but none of those fixed the shakyness. any other suggestions?
