lefks
Hey guys, I am really stuck...I have an exterior scene. I am using HDR lighting and 1 omni light. It's a forest and I want to add mist or fog. I hate the way fog looks added as an effect to the environment. I tried adding volume light to the omni. It looks like crap. I heard maybe using the Z-Buffer...I am not sure how to use that. I also tried fire instead of fog under the helpers atmonspheric apparatus it looked better. Anybody have any suggestions. I am going for a atmospheric effect not so much a thick fog... thanks I'm using vray and 3d max
sterealkey
I dont know how to help you. But I can tell you that you shouldnt use an omni with vray. Use vray lights rather.
lefks
I figured it out! I rendered the z-buffer and then masked in photoshop! It will need some work but I think this will be the best way in my case. I have heard that I should stick with vray lights. Woudl you suggest I use a vray light in the shape of a sphere? It is a night scene and my light source is from a light bulb in the shed.
