arquichido
Hi everybody: I'm having some troubles with V-ray, when I start a render the log says: "Invalid color or excesive brightness", or so. The renders pop out with some nice "color spots" that look awful, especially when I use the Speed Tree plugin. Any idea about how to correct this? Thanks
Tommy L
Sounds like a stray raytrace material. Are all your materials vray materials?
arquichido
Yeah, all of them, I even converted the whole scene with the v-ray convertor, I think the trouble is with RPC and the Speed Trees, because the log mentioned them as overbrighted elements. I collected the bitmaps with the resource collector in order to modify them and look at the speed tree *tif bitmaps, but I don't know how to edit the maps. Thank for your suggestion. Tommy L
Exclude the rpcs from the lighting, especially the GI.

SandmanNinja
How RPC create shadow? Give anothers lighting for RPC? Make a shadow generator: 1) free direct light 2) put it where you want it to cast shadows from 3) modify shadows [x] ticked 4) intensity 0.1 multiplier colour is black 5) directional parameters=rectangle 6) shadow map parameters: sample range 35 7) shadow parameters: colour: 210 or so & Dense: -3 (if density This information was gleened from http://www.kristopherlee.com/
Tommy L
create a projector map for the light for RPC shadows: 1 render the view from the light (1/1 aspect ratio) 2 then render again with only rpcs turned on 3 in PS check whick rpcs can be seen by the light by overlaying 2 renders 4 make b/w image of the rpcs that cast shadows 5 put image in the projector map slot in the advanced tab in the light in modifier panel voila. arquichido
Hi Guys Thank For The Feedback, It Worked! The Model Looks Much Better But...how Can I Get Off The Rpc's (mainly Cars) From The Gi? 'cause I Exclude Them From The Vray Light In The Model, But They're Still "sprayi'n" Those Rare Spots.
Tommy L
Right click, vray propreties, untick visible to GI.
ipxstudios
Go to the "Vray system" usually found at the bottom of the list and unckeck "max compatible shade context". This fixed all the color spots I was getting.
