Just starting to try out this vray render engine in max 8, and i have a quick question can i continue to do my landscaping with opacity and diffuse maps mapped on a plane or when using vray are you supposed to use real 3d trees which are a little more time consuming when rendering

thanks

3d trees are your best bet, because Vray has a hard time with lots of opacity mapped landscape maps- it's slow and usually crashes when you run out of memory. With Vray Proxies, even millions of polygons in tree meshes can render with no problems.
