Hector
Hi: This relate to my previous post. Given that I am rendering an interior shot I need to know if there is a way of getting the transparency values preserved (when you look outwards through the glass) and the background removed so I can composite a new background in photoshop. I do this in Lightwave by saving the image as a 32 bit tiff but how do I achieve tha same in Modo? Regards Hector
CHE
TIFF should work just fine. I use PNG with Modo.
Hector
TIFF should work just fine. I use PNG with Modo. Hi, thanks for your repply. It seems that there is no tiff export option. I've tried PNG and Targa, both save an alpha channel but... I have to open the file in photoshop, load the alpha channel as a selection and then create a mask with that selection to remove the backgroung (environment) behind the glass. The problem is that the alpha channel does not register reflections on the glass, so once I use the AC to do the mask, reflections are gone. Any ideas? When you finish the render, before you hit save, note there is "color" and and "alpha" tab. Select alpha and the rendered image should turn into an alpha channel. Hit save then.
