ChooChoo
This is my most ambitious project yet. A few months worth of nights and weekends so far. I will be posting progress for awhile I would say. I am going to finish the exterior then start interior renderings where I am lacking. Modeled in Revit and rendered in Max and VRay (I got it to work BTW for those who remember the problem I had earlier) These are just standard materials, no VRay yet. I am still doing the "File Link Manager" process until I get close. Any help or ideas are welcome as are C&C's. My wifey will be telling me where to put the pansies in the planters LOL
AFK_Matrix
Not bad mate . Only 2 things I can say are that your texturing needs a little work, both the roof and the driveway look too tiled and your wall material is a little confusing - is it supposed to be concrete? And the other thing is your sky seems to be nice and sunny to the left then looks as though its gonna rain on the right? I would also say if your gonna do sunny tone down the sky a tad. ChooChoo
Yeah, I've been having a little difficult time with my tiled maps. I'm thinking of just using others anyway when I get it completed. The materials come from what has been applied in Revit so there's no bump mapping or anything special, just maps. When I get almost done, I will just import my model into Max instead of linking. Then I will replace almost all of the maps applied. I'm using a coarse limestone rock for my walls, so I guess it doesn't look quite right if you think it's concrete. The stairs and quoins are limestone also, just more of what you would consider limestone. I'm sure I also have another sky around here somewhere. I'll trade it out and try another. AFK_Matrix
Thats cool mate, if the materials are from revit then thats gonna be part of your problem. Your green boarding and steps etc look awesome though mate keep them. Don't know if you have Photoshop but if you do have a search on here there are some great ways to stop tiling happening etc. Best bet is a nice camera and taking high res pics of the stone, tiles etc. If you need help with what to do in Photoshop to stop tiling give me a bell on msn and i'll help u out. gfa2
Nice start William. What workflow have you found effective for Revit to max?
SandmanNinja
Hi Choo Choo (does the secret SciFiMeshes handshake)... You can assign different material id's to different sections of the wall and use similar but slightly different bricks. Make slight edits in the surface texture on Brick1 to make it slightly different to Brick2, etc. Cheers
