innerdream
I'm pretty new to this stuff and I work in Architecture. Does anyone else find the more light's in a scene the less realistic it starts to look? What is the general consensus on this? Just curious really. Thiago de Andrade
It just depends on the kind and function of the space being depicted. I don't find any consensus on this... but I think the less lights you use the more dramatic the scene looks and of course some spots are given more attention and focus on the composition. This can be desireable sometimes. But, on the other hand, spaces like kitchens, workspaces, etc, are generally more lit and the light more uniformly distributed, in order to cast less shadows over the workng planes. Nevertheless, there's always the option to value the natural diffuse light. Which I think can be very useful and extremely beautiful, with soft variations and shadows.
